any tips on how to get the plastic cover from 1.9SDI off (without breaking anything)? Can't see how it's fixed - no screws, it flexes but then not coming off easily...

the reason is I need to check glow plugs: guess they just under the cover - so the second question is: how do I check them (i.e do I need to take them out to measure the resistance)?

Presuming it's the same as the vRS, lift up the front of the cover, then pull it towards you

It just pulls up pal. There are three connectors sitting in rubber holes. Just pull it on both sides firmly and one or two will pop up, them pull it at the top to get the last one pop up. I think you would have to do it pretty wrong to damage it. Its not like a fiddley clip rear boot or door panel etc, its made to be easy to pull off.
