Coolant Change

Featured Replies

I would like to change the coolant on my 30k mile early '08 Octavia 2.0 TDi PD in the fairly near future. Can anyone tell me when this is actually due in the service schedule and any tricks or procedures that the 2.0 TDi PD requires. What sort of anti freeze is required (ie long life) and also are there any drain cocks for example in the radiator bottom or the block?

Cheers

You don't need to change it as yet.

Its long life coolant (BASF G12++).

Drain via bottom hose and oil cooler hose (no drain ****).

Takes about 8l of coolant.

Use 50/50 G12 ++ / water

Thanks for that guys.

So when is longlife anti freeze due for change, I have always changed my anti freeze at three year intervals but of course that was the old stuff.

Cheers

Dave

Read the service manual. Just checking and topping up necessary on my service schedule for my 2009 FL.

The G12++ is for ( a long) life. Was also so in my old Passat. Unlike a turkey.
