Gearbox question

Featured Replies

Might seem a dumb question but how do I find out my car`s gearbox code? I know my car has a CZBZ engine but I can`t see my gearbox code listed anywhere, unless I`m doing my usual and being stupid and looking straight past it!

Wondering if I can get a quickshift and uprated clutch for it. Don`t think I can swap it out for a 6-speed box, I`m assuming as the TSI engine is so new nothing for the exisitng range would be compatible with it.

I'm not sure I know the answer to you question Ross, not sure if I fully understand what you are wanting. But, if I may ask...why would you want to do that? The cost will be considerable and for what reason? The standard clutch is more than capable and it's a lovely gearbox. Are you meaning to go DSG with some sort of after market kit? Or, do you just want a quick shift gearlever. Sorry for the questions...but there are several options you may be describing.

Was thinking about doing the clutch if and when I get the car tweaked for more power. Either uprating or switching to the 6-speed `box that appears on the same engine in the Seat Leon.

Wanted a quick shift as the shift on the manual box I have at the moment can be a bit clunky and slow sometimes.

Should be on the sticker in the boot IIRC.
