Engine warning light

Featured Replies

Hi All,

on my way home from work the other day i noticed that the engine warning light had come on.

Car drives lovely and no loss of power, no stuttering or juddering what so ever.

car is a petrol 1.8 octavia VRS mrk II 04 plate

Had the car booked into the local garage and they came back saying it was a brake light switch sensor and replaced it.... bit odd I thought as I would have thought the ABS light would have came on instead.

Not knowing how the electrical systems work I thought oh well and paid the bill

engine warning light was off when i got the car back and it stayed that way for a week or so then once again it popped back on.

car still drives fine but for obvious reasons I am worried it could be something more seriouse

from looking through the forum it could be a number of different issues some bad some not bad so I guess that the next step would be to have the car scanned with some diagnostic equipment

is there any body near the swindon area who would like to earn a quick buck and scan my car ..... would rather have some one from here do it than the local garage who will just tell me a story then reset the light for another week

Thanks in advance

Gary
