Rasing Weitech's

Featured Replies

Does anyone with Weitech's know how easy/hard it is to adjust the height setting and the approx time to do? If too tricky for a basic DIYer, how much time would you expect a Garage to take to do this?

I realise having mine set at the medium height, is not really ideal for winter driving and would prefer the highest setting in winter and then revert to medium in the summer.

I'm not too sure about weitech kit, allthough i did have KW var 2 on my old car and they were adjusted by loosening the grub screw on the adjuster ring and manually winding the adjuster up or down which in your cars would be up.

Might be diferent tho. Did you get a C spanner with the kit?

It's easy takes minutes, undo the grub screw on the adjuster ring and wind to your desired height. I've just raised mine due to the weather

Thanks both, i do have a spanner. So it's wheels off and 5 min job right? I assume this is for the fronts.

What about rears?

You should have a spanner for the front and a spanner for the rears. They are different

As sivrs mentioned quite easy to adjust the front and rears.

Rears just need to get the car in the air to take pressure off the spring and platform then use spanner to unwind the platform which will raise the rear. 1 full turn is around 3mm i think.

You may need to spray WD40 or lube to lossen the spring plaform and get it turning due to all the road grime. There is no grub screw on rears.

Thanks. Will have to check about the spanners. There is one in the boot that i know of, so will have to hunt around for the other.

The spanner for the front looks like the rear one but has a more rounded end to slot into the front strut plastic retaining nut
