Hi Folks,

Currently driving a Golf Mk V GT TDi that's heading into mid-life and starting to cost a lot of money every time it goes in for a service.

Have decided to look at buying brand new, or only a few months old to avoid this issue for a few years.

Looking around have decided that I'm quite interested in a Fabia vRS as it's considerably cheaper than the Polo, and I don't really need something as big as a Golf!

Have booked a test drive for early Jan (once the snow has gone!) so we'll see what happens!

Hi there, I bought an Octavia VRS in May this year and love it! Always been a Golf driver (Mk3 Gti, Mk4 150 Bhp Tdi, Mk 5 Gt Sport 170 Tdi DSG) This winter has shown up the problems with the Mk5 and the DSG box SNOW! Even with the winter button selected it is virtually undriveable. I have ordered the Octavia Scout to replace the Golf and become a two Octy family :-)

I have not noticed any real difference in the build of the VW/Skoda. VW has small touches of class (I will miss the blue dashboard lights) though I believe they have been dropped by VW anyway? I am sure you will be happy with the change, you get a lot of car for your money!!!
