yesterday my more than temprimental octavia developed another fault the central locking would open then close straight away and none of the controls on the drivers door work ivespent a few hours today looking for broken wires but cant find any.i took the connector off the black box they were all green and corroded could this be the problem.and do i have to change all the door loom

I had this one my B5.5 passat. You can try cleaning the connectors but in my case that was a temporary fix. I ended up soldering them all and then wrapping them in shrink wrap to keep the water out.

just been quoted £230 for a new convience unit for the drivers door.does that sound about right
