To drive or not to drive?

Featured Replies

Is it safe to drive? diesel leaking from somewhere near the fuel filter. Not pouring out but plenty to make a mess of my drive over night. Last thing I needed this close to christmas, looks like Im going to have to scrap the idea of a fmic for a while now :(

Shouldnt drive it really, diesel is not a nice thing to leave behind on a road surface. A slow leak overnight will equal a much bigger leak when the system is under pressure and fuel is being circulated through the system. Diesel will make the road very greasy and could cause a motorcyclist to have an accident on a corner or under braking if they slip on it and you could be liable if it was discovered you knowingly drove with the fuel leak.

Brilliant. Looks like the fab is spending christmas alone then I was wondering how I went through £20 since yesterday afternoon. Gutted!

Sorry to hear. Mine was leaking but was simply something that needed re connecting after being aired.

Post up more details about the leak / location and someone might be able to give futhur advice

should be pretty simple to sort! get down to halfords and pick up some 7mm hose and some straight through connectors, find the leak and replace it!

honestly its **** easy

Common problem is the ring/washer on top of the filter just before the bend. Wash all and run for a bit - you should see any new fuel.
