Stream HU & AUX IN

Featured Replies

Guys,

Im a new octavia vrs tdi (57 plate) owner and a new member and would really appreciate some assistance.

My octavia has the stream head unit as well as the aux in in the jumbo box but I can access it for some reason.

Any information would be great.

Brad

The AUX socket in the Jumbo Box can be used to play your iPod / MP3 Player through the cars sound system.

You will need an appropriate lead to connect the external device into the AUX socket.

Once connected follow these instructions in the manual:

https://mediaportal.skoda-auto.com/resource/documentation/manuals/en/Olders/Octavia/Radio/A5_Octavia_Stream_CarRadio.pdf

Here is the section you need (page 13):

External sources

Your radio enables the connection of audio units from a wide range, e.g.

portable player.

Activating an external audio source

– By repetitively pressing the button activate the external input, AUX IN... is displayed. The play function starts automatically after connecting the external source.

– If you wish to set the input sensitivity depending on the signal output level of the external source, press the station key.

End play function of the external source

– Press button or . It starts the play function of the last selected radio station.

– Press the button , in order to start the play function of the CD.

Setting of the input sensitivity

• AUX LEV 1 - high level, used in particular for notebooks;

• AUX LEV 2 - middle level, used for cassettes or CD player;

• AUX LEV 3 - low level, used for MP3 player;

Note

• Your radio has no control over the level setting of the external source. Make sure that the highest quality is achieved by a suitable combination of input sensitivity and output sensitivity of the external source (volume control). You will find detailed information for this setting in the operating instructions of the units.

Thanks for the information, will try when i go out later

I've not used the mp3 facility on my stream mp3 HU, but I think you press the cd button once for cd and a second time to access the mp3.

Second press is for the 6 CD changer if you have one, and third press for Aux in :)

Its not the mp3 version and ive tried everything so decided to purchase the bolero unit and the additional bluetooth as Im planning on keeping her a while :)

Are you saying you still haven't managed to connect your MP3 player using the AUX socket in the centre armrest?

Surely if you have the socket the head unit will still play from it?

I thought the MP3 version of the Stream HU just meant that it would read CD's in MP3 format?

You can also connect an mp3 player via a lead to the aux sockeet and it'll play from that too as well as playing mp3 cd's in the usual way.

I was referring to the OP saying that his Stream head unit isn't the latest MP3 version.

He should still be able to use the AUX input to listen to his MP3 player?
