Out of interest, i had some reservations when moving to the Weitech coilovers, but apart from lowering the car, i haven't noticed that much difference in overall firmness of ride or handling. Small improvement maybe, but not much (RARB was a very noticeable improvement by comparison). And at just over £600 fitted, it was one of the most sensible options when replacing springs and shocks all around.

I use mine as a daily driver. The only issue i recently discovered was that a lowered car is not so ideal in snowy weather a) because it tends to catch the deep snow/ice more readily and also makes getting around the arches quite tricky for cleaning, etc. Had to remove the wheels to do a proper clean up over the past few days. Seriously dirty under there. :(

Just a note then, they havent improved the handling much?

Every car i've ever owned has been lowered to some degree so am used to them ploughing snow,

i've got a none genuine spring on o/s/f and i don't think its a vrs one and it makes the car really unstable at speed and very tail happy round bends,

rather than replace the none gen spring for a vrs one then change it in 6 months am going to do it now,

Am going to do rear ARB and seat leon cast front arms etc, but i need to change this spring sooner rather than later

I`ve had the Weitec Hicon GT`s on for over 18 months now, love them to bits, and they are a huge improvement over standard IMO, but the ride is harder yes, but not uncomfortable at all. The car is a daily driver, and have not regretted the choice at all-highly recommended

Not that i've noticed. Perhaps i might have expected too much, but i found the RARB fitment a far more significant improvement in handling and reducing body roll.

When most people buy new springs/shocks it's because their existing ones are knackered, so they would notice a marked improvement whatever they put on. In my case the springs and shocks proved to be in good condition, which is why i prob didn't notice much improvement.

However if you want a lowered car and you intend on changing your suspension, then the Weitechs seems a popular and reasonably priced option. It would be good to get a view of someone who has had them for a few years, whether they stand the test of time.

Ive just fitted SPAX RSX's to mine and they are , to be fair some of the best shocks ive had!

Front and rear 28 position adjustable in bump and rebound on the softest setting its a bit firmer than standard and inthe firmest its blooody hard!!

but there uis a wide range to play with which is what i like.

Just dont see the pont buying coilovers it they are not adjustable in bump and rebound even if you cant do them both seperatly!

Weitec Hicon GT's on mine also very good hard but as Veedubya say's not uncomfortable and i use my car everyday

Are these bump and rebound adjustable, or do they have a fixed damping rate?

fixed damping rate i think theres no seperate canister attached etc

Looking at dpm site it looks like there fixed rate,

am not that bothered about coilovers cos its not going that low anyway because of all speed bumps near me and me liking my sump with oil in it,

just want a suttle drop and a car that will take the odd back road thrashing without wanting to put me down the nearist ditch like it does now due to its wrong front spring thats on it
