Unlocking all doors at once

Featured Replies

Sorry, it's probably something really simple, but I can't seem to find it on menu.

How do you get all doors to unlock at once. I managed to turn off bleeps on arming/disarming but can't find out how to get all doors to unlock and not just driver's when I press once on fob.

Thanks

Steve

You can change on the maxdot.

Im working from memory, so no gaurantee!

I think it comes under the convenience settings.

It is there somewhere as I changed mine from the default.

Its definately in the maxidot settings, I have set mine up so it only unlocks the drivers side of the car on the first press, so I know the boot and passenger doors are locked and I can put my laptop bag/coat etc. in the back of the car without any problem using only a single button press.

Thanks. I should have read the manual. I did look in convenience and selected door, but then I thought that manual and automatic were choices and didn't realise there was another layer of menus.

All set now thanks.

I'll only get annoyed by needing to depress clutch to start it now! ;)

Cheers

Maybe a MY11 change then, I have to do this as well.

Mines an MY11 and needs the clutch depressed to start, same thing on my wife's MY11 Yeti.

I've always done it so it doesn't bother me.

Must be an MY11 thing then. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I'm still surprised that Skoda/VAG decided it needed to be standard feature.

Personally, I'm quite capable of checking whether a car is in gear before starting the engine.

Maybe it's a safety feature so that it's harder to start the car so that a kid doesn't start it by accident...

My previous car, a 2007 Passat, also forced you to press the clutch whilst starting, so it was no surprise to me when the MY11 Superb also needed it.

When I undertook an IAM course (nearly 20 years ago!) the instructor advocated pressing the clutch when starting, as it reduced the amount of components being turned, therefore making the load on the starter motor lighter, and hence less drain on the battery. Seems to make sense to me.
