I bought my first ever Skoda Octavia VRS yesterday so I needed to get stuff sorted out fast as i'm going to be busy at work! I got a quote from Compare.com a few days ago for the VRS for £401 including everything other than roadside assistance from Esure.com. Not bad I thought, anyway I phoned up my insurance that i'm with when I had the Honda to try and cancel with them as my Honda was still insured with them. I was told If I canceled it would cost me £80 or I could stick with them untill it expires in April but I would have to pay £127 to change car details and 2x £27.50 per month for 2 months and the last 2 months would be for free! I first thought, no cancel it and take the new offer but then I thought why would I want to lose £80 just to change to another company which would cost me another £70 to join anyway! Anyway to get to the point, did I do the right thing or not? I originally wanted to just cancel the Honda details but i'd need to write to them. I don't have time to mess about with all that and I didn't want to be insured with a car I don't own anymore as I could still be billed if someone else crashes the car!
