I live in France and am looking to buy a Yeti (but not a new one). I don't fancy the idea of an aerosol of gloop and want the spare wheel/tyre option, even if it is a spacesaver of some kind. The Yeti I am looking at has the gloop and I have asked the dealer to throw in a proper spare. Below is his reply.

"If you command a new car to SKODA FRANCE you can have a spare wheel and jack… but for this YETI we can not because the metal structure of the rear isn’t prepare to receive this part… "

I would be grateful if a knowledgeable Yeti owner could tell me if what I want is indeed not possible, or whether I am being fed some b*ll**** by the French dealer.

yes your being fed manure I'm afraid :( A number of owners on here have fitted the spare wheel and associated box's and false floor after or as part of purchase.

There's an "unofficial" i.e. "at your own risk" mod using a true skinny speed restricted spare from a Golf. You'll need to source your own jack etc.
