Skoda in China

Featured Replies

Hi Guys (and Girls),

As the title asks, what information on how well they are doing is there??

I ask because I am seeing a lot of Octavias and Fabias on the streets of Nanning, my GF and I walked up to the park yesterday and in the 15 minutes it took I saw 2 Octavias and 5 Fabias.

In contrast I saw 1 Passat, 1 BMW X5, and 1 Mini; everything else was a licensed Chinese knock-off of old Buicks and 80's Passats and Jettas; with a few Hyundai's and Kia's mixed in.

Typical!!

Today I take my camera out to capture the many Skoda cars I see, and I see none!!!

Of course it was difficult to see any cars in the huge mass of people on the streets. Today it seemed that every person in China was walking the shopping areas of Nanning!!!!

For about 3 hours the largest step I could take was about 6" !!!!:o

I'd like to see/have a chinese fabia (or skoda) logo :giggle:

The logos and badges are the same as Europe, although I did see one Fabia with a number plate declaring it was an Octavia !!

Like everything else here, Skodas seem to congregate in areas, around People's Park I see lots, but in other areas I dont.

My hotel is situated in Scooter City!! You come out of the car park onto the main road and the shops on both sides and the other side of the road all sell scooters!! In fact, if you turn left, for about 2km 90% of the shops are selling petrol or electric scooters!!!

I am keeping my eye (and camera) ready for a Yeti!!!!
