Well my starter has finally given up, has been making the squeek noise for years.

Where u is the best place to get a replacement.

Cheapest i could find. 2 year warranty. Sadly i cannot say whether it's any good though as it is not due to arrive till Tuesday.

Did you get this yet. Mine is due tomorrow. A bit tired of jump starting it.

Not yet, our post is still pretty bad. I'm not sure if some of these units come direct from europe, in which case it would explain a longer delay.

Here's hoping it arrives soon, although my starter still works, so i'm not so desparate yet.

Im getting worried as no sign of it yet. You should have had it next day. I am trying to get a tracking at the moment but no reply.

I chased and was told it was coming via DHL today. Not arrived. Will give it till Monday then do an ebay claim.

Their feedback was pretty good at 98.5%, so am still hoping it is just delay from Eastern european supply channels, otherwise there is no reason for a weeks delay. :wonder:

I got a tracking number and mine was sent out yesterday .I did order it on sunday, very slow.

Mt starter did arrive. It all looked good on arrival and fitted today, using this guide

which although was a different car, it seems an exact match to the VRS engine.

Took me just under 2 hours with lots of checking along the way to may sure i didn't do anything daft. All the tools required are as per the write up. Longest part of the job was probably getting the battery and housing out, as the starter is only connected with two very long bolts, but you can't get to it without getting the battery out of the way.

I now have a car that no longer sounds like a taxi on start up. Well worth the 60 odd quid.
