Had car serviced last month and thought car sounded different, almst like it was more "throaty"

Had a look under the bonnet and noticed the small pipe coming off the airbox was disconnected.

Anyone know what this pipe does and will it have caused damage to engine by having it disconnected?

Weirdly it seemed performance was better though that was probably due to having it serviced....

just a vacuum pipe i believe... doesnt make any difference

I'd question the quality of the service.

Why should you have to put up with the problem? Surely the garage/mechanic should sort this out FOC???

When it's something simple like this there's not much point in going back to the garage for them to sort it when it's literally a 2 sec job to just push the pipe back on the airbox !

Was indeed a two second job and seeing as i have a strut brace its not the easiest thing to do with changing the air filter.

The pipe is tucked away at the back of the box so not easy to see that it is disconnected.

Id normally be quite peeved but it is a good garage and as long as no damage is done its no problem.
