New Fabia owner! Has a few questions...

Featured Replies

Hey, though I'd introduce myself here rather than any other forum as will be posting mostly on here. I'm Dave from Milton Keynes, just put a deposit down on a 2005 Skoda Fabia vRS (with optional xenons :P ) and like most insane people have decided to 'make a few changes'. Plan on taking a trip to AMD and getting a Brembo GT brake conversion, as well as fitting H&R coilovers and a few other small adjustments.

Just have a few questions!...

1) What is the maximum wheel size on standard suspension you can get comfortably without rubbing/scrubbing in arches? I'm guessing 17".

2) Whats the most I can lower the car with 17" wheels bolted on?

3) Still havent decided on what wheels yet, although do like the Sportec multispokes. What wheels have you got on yours? (include pics if poss!)

4) How many of you have fitted the Brembo GT kit? Looks like a good upgrade. Is it worth the money?

5) Have any of you had a leather retrim (Im thinking of retrimming the white patches on the interior seats to white leather)?

Thanks! Looks like a great forum.

Dave

Welcome :wavey:

Have you ordered from Pilling Group in MK, if so Ross on this site works for them, search for any of his posts as he has a picture of his Furby, with all sorts of mods.

He is the major source of techie info, but others will be along to advise.

Steve

You'll find quite a few here have gone through this exercise. Do a search on "fabia leather".

Mine's illustrated at http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17711. Most people don't like my seats because they don't like the colour - but as I've explained it's different in reality to the pictures - if you look at the pictures I've posted you can see the difference in colour within them just depending on the light falling on them.

If you get the doors done, check out how mine have been coloured. Owing to the fact the cloth on the back door is much bigger than that on the front, to get the best effect the rear door has to be trimmed in two colours - as clearly seen on http://www.davidrjones.freeserve.co.uk/skoda/leather3.jpg. Even if you do the seats all one colour I'd still suggest getting the bottoms of the back doors in black...
