Problem with new head unit

Featured Replies

I have installed a new head unit into my 2006 octy vrs

the unit is the one from this thread: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/184148-pioneer-avh-3200dvd/

the problem i have is i cant seem to be able to distinguish between the permanent live and the ignition live

the radio is always on, even with the keys out...this isn't a major problem, it just means i have to switch it off before leaving the car, but if anyone knows what the problem is, or can tell me which cable is the ignition live then that would be great

thanks

Don't hold me to it, but it has been known with over headunits, that you need to swap the red and yellow wires over, should tell you in your instructions.

Hope thats of some help, but someone will be along with a better answer.

lol tried it

both combinations produced the same effect, i can turn it on with no key regardless :/

Might be worth posting in the ICE section, sorry i can't be of more help.

There's no switched live supply to the headunit area in the loom.

You'll need to run a switched live from the fusebox, or somewhere else, and integrate it with the connectors for the new headunit.

well it's not a big deal that i can turn it on, but that it doesn't turn off again

i have to turn it off myself every time i leave the car...not a big deal really, and it's something i can live with, i'm just looking for a solution
