Alarm woes.

Featured Replies

The car had a bad day yesterday. Out to the shops and back, all perfectly well behaved. When I got back the alarm kept going off. After an hour or two or resets and checking windows, playing with vents/disabling the internal sensors, I'd had enough, so disconnected the battery. During this time, arming the alarm didn't flash the indicators, so I assume there is/was a problem. Was in a pretty foul mood at the time as I'm recovering from a Christmas cold so had little time for the car's petulance.

Did a little research on here and via google.

I've pulled fuse 60 and reconnected the battery. Today, locking the car results in apparently perfect behaviour with the indicators flashing to confirm locked etc.

Couple of Qs.

1) Does fuse 60 kill the alarm totally or just the siren/sounder?

2) Should I replace the fuse, should I disconnect the battery again first?

3) To get to the bottom of the problem, I assume I need the car scanned. Can you suggest a friendly local garage in South Bucks/Wycombe area?

Cheers and HNY

Are your wipers behaving in a normal manner?

How's your battery buddy? The cold weather has almost killed mine - voltage drop might be setting the alarm off.

The alarm only works on voltage drop - so that wouldn't make it go off repeatedly, would it?

You can always turn off the interior monitoring to ruel that out, the unit is behind the interior light and has a small switch on it to isolate it.
