Does anyone have boost leak issues on the MAP sensor pipe ?

Featured Replies

As the title says really, I'm having to make a seal round the MAP sensor for the 4th time as it keeps leaking causing a high pitched whistle and an oily mess !

Is there supposed to be a seal built into the sensor itself ?

Does anyone else have this problem using the forge pipe ?

there is an o-ring on the actual map sensor itself... which should stop leaks once bolted down?

maybe your's is missing?

try get a new o ring!

to seal mine i stuck some gutter sealent on it and clamped it down

Thanks Jason, there is no O ring on it so when the IC was first put on it must have got lost !

I've tried all sorts of sealant and the last attempt was plaster it with a hot glue gun which has held pretty well, I think it first started to blow when the boost pipe popped off and slowly got worse !

I'll have a look for an O ring and see how it goes

yeah there should be an o-ring on the map sensor prong which should make it fit quite snug in the mount, then you just bolt it down

do u have the insert that goes in pipe?? i didnt get mine, so when i went stage 2 if blew out there like mad, all i di was ring forge nd tell them and they sent me it out.

theres two different inserts.. one for the 3bar map that you have.... then you remove that to fit the 4bar map sensor

It doesn't fit snug that's for sure !

I'll try and get it all off tomorrow and post pics

well there should be a metal adapter fixed to the map mount about 5mm thick for you to fix your smaller map sensor too... maybe your's has been 'lost'

Yeah it's not there, hasn't been since I've had the car !

A call to forge is in order :)

Thanks for the info

even with the adapter my map sensor isn't a properly snug fit in my forge boost pipe
