I've been offered a very good deal on a custom remap by PD Tuning in Boldon (near Sunderland) using their RR. I basically emailed to see if they can offer any discount to price match what I have found elsewhere for a generic map and he has come back with a very competitive price for a full custom map that is only a little bit higher than what I have found for a generic.

Have googled them for reviews and have only come across a couple of unhappy customers, but have found plenty that are satisfied. Have also found a couple of dodgy threads on other forums but their issues do not concern remaps.

I see that the business owner was a member of this forum (Dave A) but he has been banned but I dont know why. Can anyone shed any light on this for me please?

Tbh the way I feel from what I have read, I'm not too worried about getting a remap from them, it seems that the guy knows his stuff. It could be that he's had some issues in the past and that by doing a decent job on my car it might help to improve his reputation on a site like Briskoda, however like I've said I dont know the circumstances surrounding his ban.

Any advice appreciated

Banning is a private matter between Briskoda and the individuals or firms concerned. Plenty of reputable tuners advertise on Briskoda and thrive on the positive feedback they receive from our members.

I believe that PD Tuning were formerly known as Vsport. You may wish to search for feedback on that firm too.

Yes they were known as VSport and if you google this and corsa forums there is some interesting reading about group buys.

There is also a member on here who bought a car from a previous member who had it remapped from there. He had issues with the map - thread can be found here

Your choice but as said there is a lot of forum sponsors and local reputable tuners.

I have spoken to a few people who have had their cars mapped and have been more than happy with them, but tbh I dont think it's worth the risk. Of all the companies I've researched there's only 2 that don't appear to have any bad reports, Shark & Jabba. I think it will be worth me travelling to get the job done properly, afterall a car isnt exactly cheap to repair or replace. Just wish I could afford the STS.

Have exchanged a couple of messages with Ben @ Shark the past couple of days and he comes across as a genuine guy, his reputation is second to none. Of course I knew this from the start.

Yea Ben has glowing reports all round. Jabba has an agent 5 mins from me; MB Motorsport. Another local site sponsor does generic maps - DPM: I can't praise Damien enough he's a top guy. P-Torque, RS-Tuning, Awesome obviously also have good reports if you want to travel.

How have I not found DPM before!?!

The Jabba remap is out of my price range.

I had my heart set on driving down to Shark due to Ben's reputation, but the fact there is a reputable company so close kinda makes sense really, if I have any issues it's a lot easier to pop in.

Have a look in the site sponsors section under performance tuning and parts and DPM Performance. Other than that you will probably have to travel.
