Problem with brake lights

Featured Replies

2003 16 v petrol 100 BHP saloon. Came back to the works car park this evening to go home only to find all the brake lights (including the high level) were on. - doors were locked, ignition off.

Lights went out only after cycling the footbrake several times - faulty footbrake switch ? Where's it located ?

Also, during the snow the other day, when I garaged the car in a multi-storey after a run at lnchtime, I got a distinct burning smell from under neath the bonnet. Took a look could see nothing untoward.

Is this the first sign of ABS unit going AWOL ?

I had same problem it's a simple brake light switch I think. Apparently design fault with some of the older ones. Am not sure exactly where its situated. got my local mechanic to do a straight swap. Cant remember how much the part was. He didn't even charge me for fitting.
