Issue with the passenger map light

Featured Replies

Has anybody had the same issue and come up with a solution?

When my wife switches the map reading the light, some of the beam shines on the sensor in the auto dimming rear view mirror.

This fools it into thinking there is more ambient light than there actually is and the mirror "un-dims"

Switch the light off and the mirror dims again

That's normal.

When the interior lights are switched on or the reverse gear is engaged' date='

the mirror always moves back into the basic position.[/quote']

Dave,

quite simple.........just tell the wife she can't have the light on!! Remember you are the driver and therefore in charge!

Do you like grapes, when we visit your hospital bed?

I'll pick my moment I think. Maybe when she drives next, I'll get the map out

I think this is perhaps also what will happen if sunroofed Yetis were to have those pin LED lights in the console near the sunroof switch... emoticon-0140-rofl.gif
