vRS Bluetooth SMS

Featured Replies

I've got the factory fit Bluetooth. This works extremely well with the Nokia I have, but one minor problem and one question I have that someone might be able to help me with.

The problem; when and SMS is received in the car, there is a function to COPY this to the phone. This used to work fine until a couple of months ago; whilst I get the message 'Copied to phone (SIM card)' I can't find the message on the phone when I later go to read it. Not aware I have changed anything - just no longer seems to work.

The question; as the SMSs are received in the car, they mount up naturally. I can't find a function in Maxidot to delete ALL messages in one hit; seems to only allow them to be deleted one at a time.

Any tips / pointers appreciated.

Thanks.

I too have full OE Bluetooth kit.

Each Saturday on way to work I get a mini bank statement (via text to phone) which I look at on the maxidot

display.

I then copy this to my phone

You need to look at both the phones text message memory and the phones SIM card memory.

The SIM card can only store a limited number of text messages, the phone will have much bigger capacity. Is your SIM card memory full?

Not sure about deleting all messages

Are you able to receive text messages through the Bolero unit? Each time i get a text message it is to my phone it comes. Am I missing out on some setting?? Thanks

When in the car, any new SMS comes up on the Maxidot display; never looked to see if it on the Bolero. The Factory fit bluetooth means you must have Maxidot I believe. So it works fine in the car but I just can't get the messages COPIED back the phone when I want to do this.

Never noticed that. How do I access the text msg's in maxidot?

Cheers

When my phone is connected, I just get a message in Maxidot saying 'New Message' - then I choose READ to look at it and in theory COPY to send it to the phone. It just works like that - didn't do anything special when I set it up. But there should be a 'PHONE' option in Maxidot along with MFD, AUDIO etc - maybe it is a setting though again it just happens automatically for me and always has done.

Must watch for that next time.

I normally drive with the fuel remaining on display in maxidot.

should I need to keep it on phone display?

No, when a message comes through it will automatically change to 'New Message'. There is no 'ding' or chime which I would like

Cool,

Thanks for that,

My phone still gives the message received tone so next time I must look at Maxidot.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

That doesn't sound like the message will display on Maxidot. Once my phone is connected to the Bluetooth in the car, it essentially becomes inert. If a message or call comes through the phone stays silent while the car will either display the New Message or ring if it's an incoming call. You can only use the phone if you disconnect from the car's bluetooth system.

Hmm,

that sounds a bit strange alright,

if i allow the phone to ring while driving the ringtone from my phone kicks in as well..

phone should not ring whilst connected via rsap. Unless the newier version is different to the one fitted to my 59 plate.
