Powerbulbs ,Osram warranty

Featured Replies

I've just had one of my £30! nightbreakers blow after 8 months, so I ordered a new pair of nightbreaker + from powerbulbs (another £30), I noticed they say there's a 12 months warranty on Osram and Philips bulbs, so Ive got the old set and box and will try see if I can return it for replacement/money back.

Does any one know how long they have been offering a 12months warranty. My bulbs were bought back in april last year so are only 8 months old. Anyone claimed on this warranty?

Yep i claimed on it.

They didn't ask for any proof of purchase I just sent an email saying "bought bulbs in X and already one of them has blown after just Y months. Can you please replace under the standard 12 months warranty?"

They replied quickly apologising and saying that it was rare for one of their products to fail so prematurely and to return the bulb for analysis.

I popped it in a jiffy and sent if off, a week later received an email from them saying it had been examined and they was a manufacturing fault, a few days later a replacement arrived

I have since had 2 more go on me in what I deemed less than acceptable time so have moved on to Philips instead.

I've had them replaced under warranty 3 times, always no questions asked.

I usually take them to the door, with it being about 2 mionutes from my house.

Dam never thought of that - i've just ordered some Philips ones for the Bora as the Osrams have blown again. My last lot of Osram night breakers both blew at the same time.....at 11PM....luckily i had the OEM bulbs in the boot. Will have to see how long the Philips last.

edit just looked at i bought them July 09 so out of warranty but would expect to last longer than that. Only paid £15 for them though (H4). Previous to that they were bought in Nov 07. So 18 months seems to be their life!

Powerbulbs are now supplying nightbreaker plus bulbs instead of the standard nightbreakers. They apparently last longer, which can't be too difficult.

I did notice, my old seat toledo had the philips extreme power bulbs in, and they lasted a lot longer. Almost 3 years in fact. The were H1 compared to h4 though, not that it makes much diffierence.

I run the Philips xtreme in my Caddy i did previously have Osram nightbreakers and they lasted 6 months and they werent cheap wouldnt use them ever again.

I've been running Powerbulbs own brand of bulb, I'm very impressed with the light they produce and they last really well too

I still don't get how they can charge £30 for a pair of night breakers, I paid about £9 for mine I fitted last week but then I get staff discount where I work lol

They charge it because people pay it. Simple!

I sent the old bulbs in (both), they said they tested faulty, (duh yeah) and are sending replacements, I have already replaced them with nightbraker plus, so not sure if theyre sending back nightbreaker (probably) or plus, but should have a spare set. If tehy send a brand new set back in a box then ill stick them on members market.

Oh the nightbeakers were great, but the plus are really good, I do a lot of late night/early mornign driving, and and dead easy to fit, just remove the plastic cover front on the battery, even with my sausage fingers, I could fit them no problem.
