Pretty sure my car still isnt working as intended. So i drove home the other day with the MAF disconnected and i have to say that i couldnt notice any difference at all.

The traction control light came on, as i understand it should, and later the engine management light came on too. After reconnecting the MAF the lights went out again.

I understand that this is a good way to deteremine if a MAF is knackered or not, but should i have noticed a difference or is the change small enough that it may go undetected?

If the MAF is broken then i will obviously need to replace it, a local car parts place can get me a new Bosch MAF for £48 but they have 2 listed for my car and are not sure which one i need, i see that the DIY thread has "06A 906 461 L" listed as a replacement for the Elegance 4x4 Turbo 2001 ARX but i wondered if anyone knows the Bosch part number. Done a google search but no luck and i cannot see the Bosch number on my MAF anywhere.

Have you tried using eurocarparts online search, ive found it pretty good in the past and its model specific if you enter your reg
