Someone in our office has Cooper 'S' with the works pack, giving it 190 odd BHP.

It's scarily fast, but bloody noisy!

I still can't understand how people can praise the hot mini's - "it's a great small car" \ "best hot hatch" - it should be when it costs the same as a mondeo or greater class car!

Funny how the BMW 1 series seems to be the same thing, they'll love the 125i etc but will cost a heap.

Do they really think we all buy cars based on need and not budget? Most small cars are bought because they are cheap, same for performance models, the 2.0 econobore engine in a large saloon may be dull but putting it in a 800kg hatch will make it a hoot, and cheaper too.

...and don't get me started on the fashion accesory element of it....

Quite a few folks here have got them as company cars, as they're pretty good on tax.

I can't see any other reason to have one, myself. I find the styling (especially interior) just too self-conciously "funky". And the service from the dealers is appalling......
