Prospective new owner saying hi

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Been lurking on here for years because I've always followed the Skoda brand quite closely as it's had a fascinating transformation and the cars are just such bloody good value. I've come close to buying one several times but the circumstances have never quite been right. Also having spent a lot of years pounding up and down motorways in an early VW-ised Felecia 1.3 SLXi doing software installs at Skoda dealers and also looking after their central server (the one which does the accounts and processes all the car ordering etc) I got to know the organisation pretty well. That was a long time ago but I had access to all sorts of useful information, such as was the car damaged during the import process and repaired before making it's way to the dealer, how much did the dealer pay for the car, recalls, memos to dealers, etc.

Now I'm in the happy position of wanting to start a family and also being able to get a company car, so I need something which is an extremely practical family car, safe, low CO2, well specced, decent to drive and also has a sensible list price to keep the tax down. Helooooo Skoda Octavia and Yeti.......

I use forums a lot so am looking forwards to hopefully contributing here too.

Cheers,

John

Welcome to Brisky.

You not added the Roomster to your list of possibilities, It seems to have a good following here as one to consider, specially with the back seat arrangements. ?

Although with the Octy, you certainly can get all the baby kit you ever want in it & still have room for holiday suitcases.

Thanks :)

The Roomster is out I'm afraid, it doesn't make sense financially on my company scheme (I can get a Yeti in Elegance spec for only about £20 a month more than a Roomster SE) and to be completely honest the looks put me off too, each to their own and all that though.

Looks like I'll be waiting a while whichever one I order as I'm looking at the 1.6 CR diesel which I understand there are shortages of.

Cheers,

John
