Hi guys as some may know I will be breaking a vRS at the end of the month and I was thinking of getting an engine crane to remove the engine and gearbox. I need to know the weights tho as I there is a 2 ton crane and a 1 tone crane, but which to go for?

Well the engine and gearbox definately don't weigh more than a tonne!

So I'd say the 1 tonne will easily suffice.

I use a block and tackle at home, suspended under the main garage beam that we've reinforced. Works a treat, but a crane would be nice.

What make are you looking at? Sealey?

buddy do your self a favour and get the engine and box ready to pull out then just hire one for about 10 to pull it out and stick on a pallet

most hire companys do them and deliver them to your house

Seriously I may be able to aquire one for a day or two, I'm sure my mate has one and a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka will keep him happy I'm sure.

you can use a pallet truck or anything with small wheels once you have the front off and everything underneath disconnected it will slide out the front easily

Cheers guys, I will weigh everything up as If I get a crane I can do my gearbox and clutch myself and also do the GF clutch too. For the sake of 150 notes it could pay for itself in labour? We shall see. One day I want to be able to do everything myslf.
