tunnel auto lights

Featured Replies

Hi well took delivery today of my new fabia elegance, absolute brill but I thought it hand auto tunnel lights am I wrong?,I am pretty sure it was in the brochure when I ordered but in the new brochure with the green vrs on the cover its not there?,am I going crazy!!!!

No auto lights on my VRS as far as I know, might be an option on some though.

Never trust the brochure. I've not seen auto lights as either standard or optional kit in the brochure or on the configurator but I've read here that it's standard on the Elegance.

yes Ithought standard on the elegance but also i did see it in the brochure i ordered from strange but it does not seem to be on the fabia can not find it i will ask dealer on monday,i even remember asking the dealer months ago and he said yes it does have auto tunnel lights?

i just been on the skoda website and looked at the configurator and says "Automatic headlight activation" as standard under

"Safety, functionality, comfort"

I have both June 2010 and August 2010 brochures here.

I have just scanned through both and neither mention tunnel lights as standard or an option for any Fabia.

got it wrong then

Could it be referring to automatically switching on DRL's with the ignition?

YES so its on vrs but not on elegance strange:p

This is probably really misleading!!

The auto-headlights mentioned in the spec sheet are certainly not light-sensitive switching like the 'auto lights and wipers' option pack on a VW.

I wonder if it means that the lights come on and off with the ignition switch if you leave them switched to headlights. I used this function on a hire car

Golf on holiday where one should drive with headlights in daytime. If you used side lights only, the light warning buzzer would sound and lights stay on

if you switched off and exited the car. With lights switched to headlights, there is no need to switch on and off when leaving the car. You can leave the lights

on sidelights if you need to leave the car illuminated (or use the parking lights). Hence headlight illumination is 'automatic on start up' if switched to headlights

and on and off switching is not needed when switching off and on the ignition.

Or is it something else? Perhaps Skoda need to emply an interpreter.

thanx for input but i am sure the stealer said auto tunnel lights but if so its nothing like the superb 2 autolights when becomes dark which i thought it was

I can confirm for certain that this function is NOT on my Fabia vRS that I took delivery of last week.

There's no 'tunnel lights' feature like there is on our Octavia vRS (which has automatic headlights,) this meaning that the headlights do not come on automatically whether you're driving or when the car is locked / unlocked. The only lights that come on automatically are the DRLs and even then it's only when the engine is started.

I haven't tried leaving the headlights in the 'on' position, either sidelights or dipped beam so I couldn't say whether the lights come on when the car is locked or unlocked. I do get the warning 'bong' though if I leave the headlights on when the ignition is off and the door is opened.

Very misleading as you say because it definitely says 'automatic headlight activation' on the Skoda website configurator.
