Front Armrest

Featured Replies

I would be intrested to know if other people have an unruly front armmrest. When I place mine in the forward position, it seems to move itself into the rear position within a few minutes. The grip that the armrest has on the ratchet system seems very lose. Is it just me?

Mine seems pretty good only goes back when nudged with your elbow

Mines ok too

I don't use mine as it's too low.emoticon-0149-no.gif

Mike, sorry to state the obvious, but I assume you have noticed that as you lift the armrest, there are about 5 different heights that you can set it to against a sort of ratchet? Lift it gently, feel the clicks & then when you get it roughly where you want, lower it again & it should stay put.

When you want it to go all the way down again, lift it right up & the ratchet is cancelled.

My criticism of the Jumbo box armrest is that it is set too far back, even when slid forwrads. Another 6" further forward would be far more comfortable. I'm just below average height , so those who have the seat even further forward must find it pretty well useless as an armrest!

Thanks. Yes I had worked it out. I'm almost 6' tall but like my seat as high as I can get away with, which means that my elbows are no where near any arm rests, even in the raised position, and the door is too high. As I'm learning to be an advanced driver at the moment I shouldn't be using them anyway. The only problem with having the seat this high is that rear view mirror. Even though it is 'high' for a Yeti, it's still in the way, but I have learnt to live with it.

The jumbo box is too far back. Shame we can't move it forward.

I know what you mean it's a shame it doesn't just come a little bit high and a bit further forward, I have my seat The same.

Likewise here. The height is fine for me, but it can't go far enough forward. I sat in a Superb at the Outdoorshow yesterday and that felt to me as if it can go forward just that tiny bit more.

So to solve the middle seat upright folded position and this Skoda just needs to move the whole Jumbo box a tiny bit forward. Job done. But alas. Will never happen.

Wonder if one would ever be able to get a modification for it?

Another here that likes a high seating position - but have had to lower it a tad due to that pesky mirror - I can't stand not having a clear view to most points to the front, without ducking and diving around. As my set-up is, the door armrest is pretty useless, and the top of the door, below the window, is a bit hard! There you go. I do use the centre rest on long journeys, a bit. Mine seems to work most of the time, but sort of 'misses the ratchet' occasionally when I try to reset it high after going into the box. Praps that's just me though.

Ray - If it makes you feel better I also find it not ideal. I do find it moves around a little and is a few inches short of being in the ideal place. I also find it moody as to whether it will sit at the right height, fine when it locks into place but the act of lifting it up and down to hit the mark and lock is random. A case of nearly good but not quite.
