Does the Columbus & Bolero display heating & PDS

Featured Replies

Ever since I bought the car I've been thinking I'd like to upgrade my Stream MP3 to the Bolero or Columbus for the nicer display and more music options.

One question I do have, which I haven't been able to find the answer to, is do the Columbus and Bolero units display the heating and conditioning settings and PDS like the Stream does?

Thanks,

Dan

On the Superb at least the Columbus does indeed display the HVAC and PDC.

Why's that? Why would it show on the Stream but not Columbus/Bolero? Does that go for both the HVAC and PDS?

I believe you may need to upgrade a controller to get full compatibily but the Columbus and Bolero both support it.

It's sounding expensive and complicated. I'm tempted to go aftermarket I must say.

sorry i dont now , all i no is i had the sam probblem couldent even get my mfsw to work. ive now changed to a columbus but still the same probblems execpt the mfsw works. from what i read you need to upgrade your reversing module to get pics on screen and to get climate controll working you need to change main unit in the dash,

Does the revised gateway just allow the Bolero to actually work, or does it allow for the HVAC and PDS to now display?

The Bolero will work anyway but won't show the pdc or air con and may be less bright than usual. The canbus should (and I could be wrong) ensure that it works properly as it would do in a FL Octy. I upgraded but haven't bothered with the canbus and it's ok.

Exactly as Mr Simbo says

You CAN upgrade the modules associated with climate and PDC if you really want to, but I found neither to be particularly useful when displayed on-screen anyway.

The Bolero obviously wasn't around when they designed communication between modules originally and also uses different screen technology. That's likely to have something to do with it. And the later introduction of the unit would have coincided with later revisions of the PDC and climate modules, too.
