Golk GTI Mark 5 sills and front splitter

Featured Replies

Hello

I am new to this site. I have a 2007 Vrs Octavia, great car.

I have seen a similar MY VRS fitted with Golf Gti mark 5 sills, does anyone know where these can be purchased and if any additional mods are needed, also whether a front splitter from a Golf Gti will fit the front bumper.

I have also seen some comments ref Superskoda.com and customer service, I have purchased several items from them, however the most recent purchase was some interior LED bulbs to replace the

one's in the front doors and also some for the rear boot compartment. neither of the items worked or fitted correctly, on this occassion the customer service was poor and I ended up chasing a refund via PAYPAL which i received.

Other items purchased from them have been fine, these included LED interior bulbs for the roof lights, additional Vrs badges, headlight 'eyebrows', milotec grille (upper and lower)

You can find stuff like this on eBay and the like :) I am going to try VW too for them, as I want them on my Octavia combi!

+1

One thing to note, the GTi skirts are black textured plastic and are well under 100 quid for the pair from VW, the primered type found on the ED30 and R32 are smooth and primed but are £220+, veryredskoda completed the mod after the thread Harry attached inspired him, they look good but he did have problems fitting!

As above. The textured ones could be primed & smoothed easily enough I would imagine though.

I have actually ended up removing these & refitting them with the mounting strip in place after all, albeit bonded on, not screwed. I used a trade product called 'Tiger Seal'-awesome stuff, if not cheap. It helped get the awkward rear bit to 'pull' in close to the bodywork. Tape up the mounting strip well in position whilst it cures & make damn sure it's in the right place! The side skirts need to be taped/wedged in position whilst the Tiger Seal cures too-I just used some heavy boxes that were handy.

Have to say I'm still pleased with the result, especially now that the car has been lowered.

Another plus side is it seems to catch a lot of the carp thrown up by the front wheels, keeping it off the paintwork & helping avoid stone chipping.
