Put nearly 100 miles on already as I took her over to our Hull office today to give her a run out. The amount of power on tap is just insane for such a small engine and according to the trip computer averaged 35mpg on the 70 mile commute this morning.

Unfortunately there's a small problem with my car which needs looking at and is slightly worrying - it pulls to the left slightly. It's definitely not the camber of the road or anything like that as I've tried it on as flat a road as I could find. Needless to say I've booked it in to be looked at this coming Tuesday.

Apart from that I'm very impressed with the car in all respects.

Pictures to follow once I've given her a wash as it's supposed to be white but with the state of our roads at the moment it doesn't take long for it to change colour!

Excellent mate, cant wait for the pics :D

Yeah, pics would be good and that's a nice spec

Probably good that it's had a run out, and you've discovered that alignment issue. With driving that distance you've given everything a chance to bed in - suspension components etc. So it's always worth on a new car getting that checked after a few 100 miles. I don't believe suspension geometry is checked as part of the PDI, so ask them to check that and they'll probably find it needs adjusting slightly.

Scott congrats looking forward to the pictures.

What was the final order to pick time in the end ? Was it earlier or later that suggested.

Cheers

For me it was much earlier than expected. I placed the order on 12th November 2010 and took delivery yesterday, 18th January 2011.

It was a factory order that had initially been placed by a dealer in Bradford. I just happened to drop on the order shortly after it was placed and specced it up to my requirements. I make that 9.5 weeks from order to delivery - pretty good by all accounts.

It'll be probably the weekend before I can get some pictures up but I'll see if I can get some shots on before then, although you'll have to excuse the dirty marks it's already picked up from the roads!

I've never picked up a new car that has problems with the steering alignment it has to be said. I could understand if the tyres had just been changed and therefore the tracking may be out or something like that but how could it be not straight when the car's brand new? In any case I hope it's an easy fix when it goes in next week.

Aside from that there's the usual buzzing from the doors when I play music that has anything like a good bass tone (and no I haven't got it turned up especially loud!)

Does it steer left when accellerating?

If so..It could be torque steer

No, this is at cruising speed (any speed) on a straight and flat road. It even does it if I slow down, without touching the brakes, just lifting off the gas.

I can actually feel myself pulling the steering wheel slightly to the right when driving it in a straight line. If I take my hands off the steering wheel at any point then it immediately starts drifting to the left.

Nice one Scott, when you get the wheel alignment done you will know the car is spot on. The rest of us only find out when our inner edge of a tyre has worn itself out.

Is your car steamy with it being a 9 1/2 weeks special :p
