Hi All,

Was thinking about selling my Mk1 VRS this year but have just had a major service carried out (today) and have decided that it's just been too good to me to let it go.

Sooooooooooo....I have had it for nearly 4 years now and I think it's time to change a few bits. Have been looking into suspesion and also wheels.

What do you think to these:

They are pretty much the same as BBS LMs. Was looking to get them in 18". Seen them on a few Audi A4s and they look awesome, I was just wondering if the Octy VRS could pull them off?

I have seen a pic of BBS LMs (gold) on a red Mk1 vrs in the Rimfest post but was wondering if anyone knew of a pic of a set of silver 18" on a black Mk1 VRS?

I have not contacted them yet no. I am hoping that they do them in 5x100, if not I might look at some BBS LM reps (can't afford the real ones :( )

The answer to the question is that those SDMs aren't currently stocked in 5x100. We'd need to get a few people together to order them up, 1-off sets aren't really possible.

Is it possible to set up as a trader on this site?

If so, we'd be intereted in being PM'd on how to get started.

We have loads of 16/17/18" options in stock .

Out of interest I've been mulling over the 9.5x18" rota grids, any idea of the offset I'd need?

Well they come in ET38. This gives you some room for spacing to get them just right, as depending on which brand of tyres is your preference, different tyres of the same size on the sides are actually physcially different sizes - so it's best to get them in a high offset and work out what's needed.

Obviously the Octavia was not designed with the 18x9.5 wheel in mind, so you may find you need a little arch roll, both nothing drastic, and you wouldn't be able to tell it has been done unless you looked up inside the arches.

I have emailed the admins/mods through the terms and conditions type section.

I would like to get some cars in here for test fitting so I can advise on exact fittings etc, but will have to wait to be confirmed and presumably paid up before I can do anything with regards selling or pricing.

When I asked about rolling arches the consensus was there's nothing to roll on these cars!

Hey rob your right there is no lip to roll, I've seen mk4 golfs that run this wide and wider. I wouldn't have thought the arches would be that different between the 2 cars?

True there are some seriously fat wheels fitted to Golfs.

But I had rubbing with 225x18 tyres on 35mm offset and lowering by about an inch.

So some work might be needed for a good fit.

There is no lip to roll on the rear of the octy but there is a small lip on the front which if your fitting wide rims or going pretty low its better to have it rolled up cos I've seen a few car catch it and it tends to kink it out,i've got my fronts rolled and the rears are flared out and the wheel arch liners have been trimmed back but its not essntial at a normal lowered height I just did it for more clearance

The test fitting sounds like a good idea shame it's a 5-6 hour drive, I dnt mind rolling and trimming

It's on coilovers so there's a bit more clearance there, I only get minimal catching with a full car but the coilovers were wound down a silly amount
