Getting latest VCDS - wooo!

Featured Replies

Decided it was time to get the latest VCDS as its becoming more and more frustrating sometimes when I am asked to scan octy 2 / Golf mk5, etc. Dad's going 50/50 with me for my birthday and first job...? Reset the service light on his 59 plate Audi TT..... Getting the full hex can usb whatever it is :D

SO, I shall be installing it etc on Sunday. How different is it to the ancient versions of vagcom, and is it fairly intuituve, etc? I could do with a bit of a "What it can do" summary from current users.

PS: I got it for £219.40 + vat & £5 odd shipping from a company called ilexa in cornwall. Not as good a price as the group buy back along, but still pretty good.

Been here: VCDS Manual

Well done Jason. New version is great. You'll pick it up no problem.

And yes, that cable will allow you to connect to everything, CANBUS or not

Not a bad price that.... before the VAT gets added!

Had its first use today - checking Dad's TT for faults and it did a whole "auto detect" scan in around 60 seconds! Was amazed how fast it did it! Even on the mongrel though, it took 50% less time to do a full scan. I do like the service reset function although the first time I tried it on Dad's TT (using flexible/long life option) the service due light stayed on. However, tried a different mileage based reset and it cleared.

Just been looking on the website of the place you bought it Jason, it seems us VAG owners get away lightly the Vaux/Opel version is £600+ :giggle:
