I'm really after a standard symphony CD Player . . . .

Does anyone know if the Audi version of the symphony CD Player can be used? or is it a different size / spec ?

If all else fails I will get a normal sized unit and fit that - is there anything other than a blanking plate (to fill the gap) required?

Yes, the Audi version should work - might be slightly smaller if it's standard DIN size, in which case you'll need the fascia adaptor.

A normal sized aftermarket unit will also fit - you'd need a fascia adaptor and a wiring loom adapter for this...
