Octavia II TDI Manifold pressure sensor

I have recently had my fault codes read as below on my MK II 1.9TDI. The guy who read these and I came to the conclusion that the Manifold Pressure Sensor was faulty, but I can't find any reference to it in my Haynes manual. If it exists where is it and, also, is there any way of knowing what the P numbers mean?

17965 - Turbo pressure control (control limit exceeded) (P1557) Error occurs intermittent.

17563 - Manifold pressure sensor - G71, short with power (P1155)

There is a reference in the petrol section to a temperature/pressure sensor incorporated in the Air Mass Sensor - is it the same in the diesel?
