Just been reading a thread on Seatcupra.net with regards to alot of the guys having experienced engine issues.

It seems that he seat ibiza cupra/bocenegra states that it requires 95 ron or more fuel to be used. Whereas the Fabia vRS with the same engine states that it requires 97ron fuel as a minimum. So the guys are trying to piece together info and see if there is a trend. So ill pop a poll up here as well

Quite scary the amount of guys who have had issues, but im also surprised guys buy a performance hot hatch and then go and stick 95 ron petrol in the car. I did this once in my octavia (states 98ron fuel required) and it ran really rough until i swapped back to 98ron fuel+.

From what i gather as well, the guys who have driven it really gently have used alot of oil in their first couple months, whereas the guys who have driven normally have used very little. So maybe this break it in gently rule is not worth doing

Well I have driven it gently, but put the boot down every so often, but not for too long and only when the engine was nice and hot

Yup i'm one who drove mine normaly, used all engine speeds and rev range etc but did not use cruise control. 20k miles in one year. 0.5ltrs of oil used. V-power ONLY + Revo.

Have done about 2500 miles in mine just topped up oil 0.5 ltrs. Drove gently for first 1000 miles as this is what I have done with my other new cars.
