Hi,

I have a 2005 Fabia VRS with 87k (80% motorway miles), It has full service history by my self, serviced every 10k (works out to be every 5 months).

Recently the engine has developed a strange noise, its not metalic or from the driveline, it sort of sounds like an extended exhaling moan, its hard to describe. The noise is can be heard between 1250-2000rpm when comming off the throttle at low speeds, but can also be heard when crusing at motorways speeds under acceleration in 6th.

I'm a little baffled to whats causing it, I shall try and take a video tomorrow.

Has anyone else had this issue or have any ideas to the probable cause?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Just incase anyone searches this wondering what happened in the end,

I changed the oil as I normaly do with genuine VAG oil ordered against my VIN and the problem has gone away. Simples!
