IIRC, the only blue wire in the loom is one of the speaker wires. The most likely candidates are the Red/Yellow and Red/Brown wires. These may be getting pulled when you move the other wires.

What is the problem?

Either way, this is sounding a lot like an internal break on one of the wires in the A-post to door loom, which IIRC is available separately from about £15. You could do a continuity test first, but a multimeter is also at least £15 if you have to buy one.

sorted it turned out to be a break in the thick orange wire running from the plug so it was just a case of putting a new length of wire in

Unless someone has replaced part of the loom, there is no orange wire, so I assume it was Red/Yellow.

could have sworn it was orange.ah well specsavers for me tomorrow.anyhow it was a nice non expensive fix so im a happy bunny now.there was wiring for an after market alarm and some other wires from its pervious life as a police car
