Elegance DRL's

Featured Replies

Has anybody uprated their Elegance DRL's to LED? The standard bulbs are very yellow in daylight and do not look like DRL's at all hence why so many of us are getting grief from other drivers  Decent LED bulbs would help if they can be fitted!

They are discussed in this thread http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/170564-leds-for-drls/page__p__2070019__hl__drls__fromsearch__1entry2070019

LEDs will not work as a direct replacement due to the Canbus system (you can fit in-line resistors if you are determined) MTEC do xenon P21W and I initially fitted the chrome finish bulbs but the silvering reduces the light output, although it is a good white colour. The downside is they don't last very long. The blue finish ones are cheaper, seem to be lasting longer and give a brighter light. The colour is blue tinged white light but the blue bulb when turned off may not be to everyones taste

Thanks Fatbloke I get some and give them a try. Just told my wife that somebody has just been stopped by the police for running with DRL's and she says she's not driving it again, she doesn't want to get stopped by the police. She drives it less than me but has been flashed twice now. Isn't she lucky :giggle:

I suppose it will get less and less as more cars get DRL's. Skoda should have put them in the headlight like VW does. I've been driving my Transporter with DRL's for nearly a year now and never been flashed as there in the headlight.

Hi Fatbloke, got some MTEC xenon blue bulbs delivered today. Ordered chrome style but received blue ones. Fitted them anyway (only took 10 mins) and they are a big improvement on the standard bulbs. Very bright white light so look like proper DRL's B) Thanks for the advice. Pete

As you say the colour is like 'proper' DRLs. I haven't been flashed once since fitting MTECs.
