Safe Securing

Featured Replies

Hi. Does anyone know why my Multi Function Display shows the message Safe Securing, Check owners manual when the ignition is turned off. Am I doing something wrong for this message to be displayed? Many thanks in anticipation.

Presumably a reminder that if you are leaving people in the car and you only lock the car once they will be locked in!!

If you want them to be able to get out you must lock the car twice within 2 seconds

Having said that mine doesn't have this unasked for safety warning.:)

Never seen that on my 59 Reg diesel. I note that 2 of the above are pertrols. opps well 1 is anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check page 41 in the manual, particularly the "Warning" box and the "i" note below it. It's not explained particularly clearly but at least it might reassure you that you are not doing anything wrong.

Many thanks guys. im now reassured nothing is wrong. Thought it was me. Thanks again.

I think "Safe Securing" means dead locking. If you press unlock twice then the doors are locked and not dead locked.
