Octavia Elegance - Bluetooth query

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm on the verge of ordering a new company car and am seriously considering the Octavia in Elegance spec, it ticks all the boxes as far as equipment is considered except Bluetooth but I can add the option for that. The only thing I am not clear on is if I order the '4 spoke multi-function steering wheel for radio and telephone including Bluetooth® and Maxi-dot' at £575 is this now coming with the GSM III+ module which allows RSAP and HFP (the latter of which is critical for integration with the iPhone 4).

Thanks all :)

I believe that it does now come with HFP - I presume you are having DSG then if you are having Bluetooth?

Welcome to the forum BTW

Thanks for the welcome.

It seems Skoda do 2 variants of the 3-spoke wheel and 2 variants of the 4-spoke wheel just to confuse us noobs! I'm not going for the DSG and I think the 4-spoke wheel at £575 is the one without DSG - the brochure suggests there is one 3-spoke variant for DSGs only. :S

I'm about to order one with the 4 spoke multi-function steering wheel for radio and telephone including Bluetooth® and Maxi-dot as a manual.

I think it's just the VRS where you can't have it without getting the DSG, on the Elegance you can order the 4 spoke multi function & BT with manual or the 3 spoke version with DSG.

Well at least that's my understanding, If i'm wrong please someone shout before I order next week!

Glad I'm not the only one. Thanks

I have an l&k with the four spoke wheel (dsg, not flappy paddle).

The iPhone 4 works great for what I need. Numbers are transferred across to the bolero. Nothing else though (emails/texts etc) that some people have mentioned on other posts.

Only one issue that I have found, is that if you set up the pre-set numbers, after a couple of days the numbers remove themselves from the unit.

Not a major problem, especially as I tend to use voice dial most of the time now anyway.

Texts (SMS) will only show up if you have a phone that supports rSAP, which your iPhone 4 doesn't. I think you also need an up to date software version on your Bolero, but I'm not sure at what software version text got supported in there.

Thanks - good to know that voice dial works. Think this news seals it for me. Just wonder how long it will take for my new car to come through!! Unless the leasing company keep stock, I may be in for a long wait...
