Just saying hello

Featured Replies

Just a quick post to introduce myself to the Superb section of the forum.

It's been a bit of a hectic day, after selling my Octavia to Mr Hanky this morning I spent the day looking at various cars on the internet. I was after a small CHEAP automatic petrol just as a runabout but I kept changing my mind. One minute it was a Nissan Almera for 900 quid, then before I knew it I was looking at the Toyota Avensis for £4k. A lot of cash on a car you don't really like. I just could not find the right car to fill the void.

After 5 hours of searching and constantly changing my mind, wishing I had not sold the Octavia I decided to quit searching for the day.

Luckily, about 8pm I thought I would see what's going on in the world of Briskoda and saw a post by estorilblue in the wanted section. After a quick PM and a couple of calls I had put a deposit down on his Edition 100. A little bit over budget, a bit bigger than what I was looking for, wrong fuel type and im still going to have to use the left side of my body while driving :giggle: but in a way, its perfect!

I think I wanted a small petrol auto car as it was everything my previous cars were not and I just fancied a change

I really was annoyed with myself for selling the Octy but now I'm over the moon B)

Anyway, while I'm waiting to recover from my shoulder op I'll be searching this forum for some tips for the new car.

Thanks for reading,

Cav.

I sometimes kick myself for not going for the edition 100 when it first came out...and finding out later that the engine was basically bullet proof compared to the one i did buy. Hope you enjoy your purschase ...and welcome to the forum

Don't think you can go wrong with the Edition 100, everything you need on it spec wise..........

I agree, I think it's probably the best of the mk1 Superbs and I'd have been better off getting one than the 2.5TDi Elegance that I did get. Do the checks for interior lighting not working and the water ingress that causes it (lots of threads here about it) and you have a really nice motor.

This will be the 4th car I have had with the PD130 engine, I just hope this one is as reliable.

Thanks for the positive comments and the heads up on the water ingress situation, just been searching the forum and I think I'll seal that area as soon as I get it.

Insurance is cheaper than the Octavia too B)

Not exactly desirable to steal the Superb.............

Fair point

Unless of course you transfer everything to a classic model....think you would have to have baker 21 's wheels in order to complete the transformation lol
