I need to purchase a set of roof bars for my 2010 Ocy Estate .The Skoda bars cost £132 from the dealer.

I will only use the bars about 3-4 times a year, so £132 seems a bit eccessive.

Argos does a set for about £40 but the user feedback / comments seem very varied. :S

I assume you mean the Streetwize roof bars. I've never heard of these and would question the quality.

A good place to look for roof bars is www.roofbox.co.uk - a quick search on their site returns:

• Cruz SR Roof Bars £49.95 - basic but should do the job. Optional locks for £10.
• Altera Signo ASR £74.95 - better built and includes locks.
• Altera Signo ASR aluminium £94.95 - aero bar version.

I've use roofbox.co.uk a couple of times in the past and they are good value for money.

I would second the roofbox suggestion. Bought some Thule aero bars from them and they were a good price and good service too.

You around Swansea? I am in Gowerton if you want to look at the Thule bars.

I have has a few questions since buying my Octavia which I have posted on this site. The respnse is allways sensible, prompt and knoledgeable. ty again
