Got Some TT Comps

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Managed to acquire some TT Comps this evening and I'd like your assistance in answering some potentially bone questions please.

Okay, so first up, will my existing wheel bolts do the job or do I need different ones? If different, please specify.

Secondly, anyone had any experiences with accelera alpha tyres? Are they upto much? They're currently fitted to the wheels. Not heard of them personally. What pressures should I run?

Thirdly, if I were to replace the tyres (probably with Rainsport 2's if anything, but recommendations are most welcome), is 205/40/R17 the correct/best size for a vRS lowered on Eibachs? No chance of rubbing?

Finally, for rolling road purposes, am I better off having factory size wheels and tyres fitted? For some reason I have it in my head it may affect speedo readings a little and consequently affect the accuracy of the readout.

Again, these probably seem like noddy questions to ask, but I'd just like to be sure about the matters above. The TT Comps seem a fairly popular wheel (been done before plenty, I know, but I really like the way they look on a Fabia) so I'm sure some of you will know.

I thank you in advance for any help or insights you can offer ;) .

There is no such thing as a stupid question remember, only stupid people :)

1. Standard wheel bolts are just peachy.

2. Have seen them on customers cars, budget tyres so expect just that

3. 205/40 17 are bob on, look good and no they won't rub.

4. Bigger wheels and tyres will effect gearing, however with those tyres on they are the same size or near enough as a standard wheel anyhow. They are a fair bit heavier though which you may notice.

Lovely job, thanks Ross

Just wanted to be sure of things, thats all.

Might whack the 16in steels on for the forthcoming rolling road visit.

Hey again guys, what pressures should I run on these please?

Got a feeling it'll be the same as standard size, 33.5psi front, 32.5 rear.

Just like a confirmation. Thanks.

34 psi all round should do it.

I run 36 psi on fronts and 34 rear however...
