Lumpy running

Featured Replies

I have a slight problem.....

If I hold my engine around 2500rpm it is running quite lumpy, not like a misfire but still quite rough..... I'm not getting any fault codes either.

I've checked the following:

  • All 4 plugs - New on rebuild
  • All 4 coilpacks - New less than 3 months ago
  • Earth on cam cover for coilpack leads
  • Fitted new MAF last week
  • All pipe work to turbo/intercooler
  • New O2 sensor last July and only covered 5k so not likely to be that (I previously thought that this was causing the issue...)
  • Fitted new engine temp sensor 6 months ago
  • Cleaned intake temp sensor and looks fine

Boost is holding fine (2bar) all the way to limiter so not N75.

I've spoke to Jabba and they've recommended that the crankshaft sensor might be pulling the timing back as it is popping and banging a lot more than usual and that the AFR is fine.

Will be fitting the new crankshaft sensor as soon as it arrives, but if anyone has any thoughts or ideas on what it might be please chip in!!

Kind regards,

Steve ;)

sounds about right steve
