Could any of you good folks tell me how to find out if my Octy is a fly by wire accelerator or good ol' cable job? I've looked under the cover of the engine but it's all wires, pipes, tubes and things. This is the first car I've ever had where I just daren't do any work under the bonnet (other than fluid levels, obviously!!!). A shame really.

Model is a 2002 02 Ambiente with 102bhp 1.6 engine, registered 1.3.02.

Pretty sure it is. Don't be too frightened of the engine, it is basically just a 1.6 8v which has been used in VWs since about 1979 - has a few more sensors and that, but essentially is the same...
