Eibach factory suspension option?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a Fabia VRS on order. I'm sure I've seen people on this forum referring to the factory eibach suspension option.

This doesn't appear in the Fabia brochure, and my dealer tells me there's no such thing.

So... is it an option? Can I get it at build time?

If so:

- What does it do to the ride height

- How much does it cost

- Part number?

Thanks :)

I could be a European option...? There are three suspension setups for the Fabia... "heavy duty", "lowered" and well, it doesn't say, but I guess "normal". In the UK we probably get "normal" and the scout (if it exists in the uk) or the rough road package would use "heavy duty" which suggests that the vrs could well use "lowered"... but then there's the greenline to consider. Mind you, there are eight different spring types, for each suspension setup...!!

The Eibach springs are supposed to be a Skoda approved Accessory. Im planning on getting these fitted to my new VRS before i take delivery. I found a link on the seatcupra.net to a supplier, Springs cost around £154 plus fitting (lower the front by 30mm and Rear 20mm) Before ordering and fitting i want to hear some feedback on these springs. As for a skoda part number i cant help but let me know how you get on. My VRS should arrive March/April time hopefully.

however skoda or eibach dont seem to know anything about this 'skoda approved' part. ive already looked, although id like to be proved wrong springs advertisment

Approved might not be the full story !

A certain dealer loaned a Green vRS to Eibach so they could develop a spring set for it, which they did by using half a kit from one car already in production and the other from another.

The car was then returned to the dealer who was using it as a demo ( and very nice it was too ). It's now in the hands of a private owner, who might or might not know it has been modified.

Being used by a dealer does not give it full Skoda UK approval, just the dealerships backing should anything fail syspension wise .

Yes it handled much better, and looked far neater. The sort of angle the nose of the car should have had from the start.

Im considering ordering a set but want to try before i buy.

The first link is to the site selling the Eibach springs,

they claim that "Please note these springs are also available from Skoda accessories as an 'Approved' upgrade".

Does sound like they're just approved by the one dealer - or chain of dealers.

Not Skoda UK in any case.

Would love for someone to prove me wrong so I can get it fitted at build time :)

SEAT approve the springs for the Ibiza (but not the TSI) but as far as I know Skoda don't.

Nothing like a bit of false advertisement :giggle:

Cheeky Buggers. i'll be giving them a miss for now then.
